Introduction to Sample Profiles

The Smart Trac Pro, aiming to meet all machine analysis needs, offers three distinct types of collections: Specialist, Self-Diagnosis, and Trend. Each type provides a unique approach to ensure effective and detailed monitoring of assets.

Specialist Sampling

Focused on detailed analysis, the Specialist sampling is ideal for vibration specialists seeking a deeper level of detail and customization. This mode stands out for:

  • Customization: Provides fine adjustments to meet specific needs.

  • High-Quality Acquisition: Ensures the capture of complete and high-resolution spectra, without compression.

  • Machine Listening: Allows for audible playback of machine vibrations, facilitating acoustic analysis.

Self-Diagnosis and Trend

The Self-Diagnosis and Trend collections are adaptive and synergistic, designed to work in conjunction with AI algorithms. Their features include:

  • S and T - Adaptability: Dynamically adjust to each machine's specific profile, optimizing data collection.

  • S and T - Synergy: Combine real-time data with detailed analysis, offering immediacy and depth.

  • S - Automatic Fault Identification: Designed to enhance fault detection using AI algorithms.

  • S - Balance: Maintain a balance between data quality and collection frequency, effective for AI-driven insights.

  • T - Real-Time: The trend sample is geared towards quickly detecting anomalies or sudden failures.

  • T - Simplicity: Takes a generalist approach, focusing on global values such as RMS, Crest Factor, and Peak-to-Peak, without providing an FFT spectrum.

How to Add a Sample Profile

On the monitoring platform:

  1. Go to "Settings" and select "Monitoring".

  2. Click on "Sample Profiles" to view existing profiles.

This is also the starting point for adding a new profile or modifying an existing one.

By default, eligible assets will already be associated with TRACTIAN's default profile. If there's a need to configure different standards for a specific group of assets, you'll need to add a new profile.

To add a new profile, click on "Add Profile" and fill in the information.

  • Name: Enter the name of the Collection Profile.

    Example: CNC Monitoring

  • Sensor Model: Exclusive feature of Smart Trac Pro

  • Connected Assets: Select the assets

Enabling Always Listening™

If you're monitoring machines with intermittent operational cycles and discrete operations, it's advisable to activate the Always Listening™ technology.

This feature ensures that data collection occurs in the first few seconds of operation, increasing monitoring accuracy and ensuring that collections are performed while the machine is active.

To activate Always Listening™, select the button.

Managing Total Battery Life Expectation

When setting up a collection profile, the sensor's operation will be altered. Therefore, it's necessary to manage the total battery life expectation to ensure optimized use of the solution.

This indicative bar graph shows the battery life expectancy for the sensor operating with this defined profile.

Therefore, it's crucial to use the bar graph as a reference to establish a collection configuration that balances battery life, ideally between 3 and 4 years.

It's important to avoid excessive collections that may reduce battery durability, as well as too long intervals between collections. While longer intervals may extend battery life, they result in insufficient data, compromising monitoring effectiveness.

Enabling Specialist Sampling

The Specialist sample is configured for detailed vibration analyses. If you don't have a specialist to analyze the data, you may choose to keep this option disabled. If you decide to activate it, you'll need to adjust the sampling parameters.

There are two ways to configure specialist collections:

1. Daily Specialist samples through sample profiles.

2. Occasional Specialist samplings through scheduling.

To enable the daily sample routine, select the "Specialist" button. Define the time for the daily sampling.

Select whether Velocity and Acceleration collections will be configured simultaneously or separately.

In the next step, we proceed with defining the specific variables we wish to configure.

  • Spectrum Range: Sets the frequency range of the spectrum to be analyzed [Hz].

  • Sample Duration: Defines the time the sensor remains active collecting data.

  • Number of Lines: Defines the resolution of the spectrum based on the spectrum range.

We use a formula that relates the above variables, so when setting two of these variables, the third is automatically determined.

Example: By selecting a Spectrum Range of 8 kHz and a Sample Duration of 2 seconds, we obtain, automatically, a number of lines of 32k.

After this selection, additional parameters such as minimum RPM and Spectrum Resolution are defined.

We also provide a Reference table that relates the variables and parameters. You can view it by clicking "See Reference Table", below the variables.

These elements are crucial for evaluating the quality of the spectrum to be analyzed and ensuring it aligns with the rotation of the machines linked to this profile.

Remember that these settings directly influence the sensor's battery life expectancy.

AutoDiagnosis and Trend Samples

The parameters for AutoDiagnosis and Trend collections are automatically defined by TRACTIAN AI™, leaving the user only to set the interval between collections.

Select the time interval between samples.

Remember that these settings directly influence the sensor's battery life expectation.

Saving the Profile

After completing all configurations, review if the battery life expectancy is at an optimal level and click on "Save".

The created profile will now be available for viewing and future edits. This process ensures efficient and optimized monitoring tailored to the specific needs of your assets.
