Configuration of Procedures for Insights
Configuration of Procedures for Insights
Updated this week

The Configuration of Procedures for Insights feature on the platform allows users to customize the suggested procedures for maintenance insights.

By default, the platform suggests procedures based on the registered information of assets and the type of insight generated. However, it is often necessary to edit these suggestions to meet company standards or address the specific needs of a group of equipment.

This configuration operates through a combination of assets and insight types, linking them to personalized procedures. This model ensures that whenever the specified conditions are met, the configured procedure is automatically suggested.

Understanding the Combination Logic

The combination logic connects three main elements:

  • Assets or Equipment Types: These can be specific assets (e.g., Pump C2445) or entire categories (e.g., Hydraulic Pumps).

  • Insight Types: Represent the various alerts generated by the platform (e.g., Lubrication Issue).

  • Procedures: Specific instructions to follow for investigating and resolving the insight.

A combination is defined by associating a group of assets or equipment types with a specific group of insights. When any asset or equipment included in the configuration receives one of the selected insights, the condition is met, and the procedures linked to the combination are automatically suggested. In summary, the combination is formed by the relationship between assets and insight types.

Important note: Procedures created by TRACTIAN cannot be edited. This is related to the platform’s default procedure suggestions.

Exceptions

The exception logic is an efficient way to quickly adjust configurations, allowing you to select a broad group of assets and exclude the specific cases that do not apply. This ensures that most assets are covered efficiently, while particular cases can receive their own custom combinations.

Exceptions are used to exclude specific assets or equipment types from the general configuration. For example, if you want to apply a procedure to all air compressors, except the NH3 screw compressor, simply add that asset as an exception.

Rules for adding exceptions:

  • Specific assets can only be added as exceptions if the corresponding equipment type or "All Assets" is included in the configuration.

  • Equipment types can only be added as exceptions if "All Assets" is selected.

Important note: Exceptions apply only to assets or equipment types, not to insights.

Adding a Combination

To configure procedures associated with insights, follow these steps:

Access the Settings

Go to the settings menu and click on “Insights.”

Access the Procedures Table

The table displays a list of procedures linked to each insight type. Initially, the platform applies the default procedures generated by TRACTIAN for each insight, but you can customize these combinations as needed.

Add a New Combination

Click on “Add” to create a new combination, then fill in the following information:

  • Select the Assets or Equipment Types:
Choose the assets or equipment types to which the procedure will apply. If it is a general procedure for all inspections, you can apply it to all assets.
If there are assets or groups of assets to which the procedure does not apply, add exceptions by selecting those assets.

  • Select the Insight Types:
Define which types of insights the procedure will apply to within the selected group of assets.

  • Select the Procedures:
Choose the procedures to be applied to the configured combination.

Save the Configuration

After completing the fields, click “Save.”

Whenever the conditions of this combination are met, the inspection generated from the insight will automatically include the configured procedure.

Important note: You can add multiple parallel combinations for the same assets and insights.

When a piece of equipment has multiple insights to be inspected, the platform includes an intelligence layer that processes these combinations, removes duplicate activities, and ensures the procedures are optimally consolidated within the insight.

Editing Procedure Configurations from the Insight

On the insights page, just below the auto-diagnosis analysis, the platform displays the recommended procedures.

Click the View button to access a preview of the suggested procedure. If you wish to add or remove procedures for this specific insight and asset combination, click Edit.

Using the Add option, you can select any procedure previously created on the platform and include it in the combination. Similarly, procedures can be removed as needed.

Changes made in this way — whether adding or removing — will apply exclusively to the specific combination of asset and insight. To make bulk edits to procedures, access the Settings and follow the process outlined at the beginning of this article.
