User Permissions

TRACTIAN administrators can manage user permissions, defining access levels based on operational needs to secure data and avoid process errors.

Default Profiles

When accessing "Permissions" in the settings, you’ll find pre-set profiles: Administrator, Planner, Operator, Requester, and Viewer. These base profiles can be customized.

Adding a New Profile

  1. Click "+ Add Profile" in the top right corner of the Permissions tab.

  2. Fill out the following fields:

    • Profile Name: Name of the new profile.

    • Base Profile: Choose a default profile to build upon.

    • Limit Access by Location: Define if the profile is limited to a specific location or has access to the entire plant.

    • Platform Modules: Select which TRACTIAN modules (Energy Monitoring, Vibration Monitoring, CMMS) the profile will access.

Important Notes:

  • New profiles should be based on a higher-level profile. For example, to create a "Coordinator" profile, start with Administrator and adjust permissions.

  • Requester and Viewer profiles cannot be promoted to Planner or Operator.

  • The Requester profile is exclusive to TracOS™ and has no access to Monitoring tabs.

Configuring Permissions

Once the profile is created, you can customize permissions across the following sections:

  • General: Manage access to Assets, Locations, Metrics, Reports, and Platform Settings.

  • TracOS™: Configure access to Work Orders, Requests, Plans, Inventory, and Procedures.

  • Monitoring: Define permissions for Status, Insights, Supervisory, Devices, Electric Tariff (Energy Trac), and Criticality.

Actions Allowed:

  • View: Allows viewing data.

  • Access: Allows accessing pages.

  • Create: Allows creating new entries.

  • Edit: Allows editing entries.

  • Delete: Allows deleting data.

  • Fill: Allows filling out data.

  • Create Tags/Faults: Allows creating tags or faults in forms.

Permission Type

Allows limiting actions based on users. For example, you can grant editing permissions for Assets to all profiles or only to users who registered that asset on the platform:

  • All: Grants the action for all permissions on that page.

  • Created by the User or Assignee: Grants the action for objects created by the user or assigned as responsible.

  • Created by the User or Team Members and Assignee: Grants the action for objects created by the user, assigned as responsible, created by team members, or for which team members are responsible.

Action Hierarchy

The hierarchy ensures that some actions depend on others. For example, editing or deleting requires view permissions. However, "Access" does not follow this rule and can be limited while allowing actions like creating or editing.

Editing an Existing Profile

To edit an existing profile, select it and click "Edit." The permission settings will be the same as for creating a new profile.

Remember to click "Save" to apply your changes.
