On the TRACTIAN platform, Administrators can create new user profiles and customize access permissions for each one, ensuring that every role has the appropriate level of control.
You can learn more about user permissions in this article.
How to Create a New User Profile
Accessing Permission Settings
To create a new user profile, go to the Settings page on the platform, then select the Permissions tab.
Starting Profile Creation
On the Permission Groups screen, click + Add Profile in the top-right corner. For this example, we will create an Admin profile for Unit 2 of the company.
Filling in Profile Information
Profile Name: Enter a name to identify the new profile on the platform.
Example: Admin for Unit 2.
Base Profile: Select a base profile that will serve as the model for the initial permissions.
Example: Administrator.
Limit Access by Location: Choose the specific unit or location to which the new profile will be linked.
Example: Unit 2.
Platform Modules: If you use more than one TRACTIAN product, you can define access to features like Energy Monitoring, Vibration Monitoring, and CMMS.
Customizing Access Permissions
After creating the profile, you can adjust permissions based on your operational needs by removing or limiting functionalities that the user won’t need. Below are some practical examples:
Assets: If you don’t want the Admin to add or delete assets, simply uncheck those permissions with a click.
Asset Editing: If you want the Admin to only edit certain fields of the assets, leave only those fields selected.
Reports: If the Admin is only responsible for maintenance cost planning, you can remove access to the operation history.
Work Orders: If you don’t want the Admin to fill out the description or procedures of the work orders, uncheck those options.
Important Considerations
Base Profiles: When creating a new profile, you select a base profile and adjust specific access permissions as needed.
Profile Limitations: Profiles with Requester or Viewer permissions cannot be converted into Technician or Planner profiles. This structure ensures security and control in access definition.
Finalizing the Process
Once all desired permissions have been defined, save the new profile. Now you can assign users to the newly created profile, ensuring they have the necessary access to perform their tasks.
