Executive Module gives corporate leaders a consolidated view of KPIs, dashboards, and asset activity across all company units in one place. This article explains what Executive Module is, how to navigate its main components, and what each section shows you.
Before You Start
Access is not self-service. The Executive Module permission must be manually enabled by your Tractian Customer Success Manager (CSM). If you don't have access yet, contact your CSM directly.
Your organization must have multiple company units already configured in the platform.
Once enabled, Executive Module is visible only to accounts with the executive permission. Other users in your organization will not see the Executive tab.
What Is Executive Module?
Executive Module is a dedicated section of the Tractian platform for corporate leaders, VPs of Operations, and reliability managers who need to monitor and compare performance across multiple plant sites at the same time.
Standard reports show data for a single unit. Executive Module aggregates data from all units in your organization into a single view, so you can identify underperforming sites, compare KPIs across plants, and track workforce and asset activity company-wide without switching between units.
Accessing Executive Module
💡 Tip: If you don't see the Executive tab, your account does not yet have executive permissions. Contact your CSM to request access.
Key Components
Consolidated Dashboards
Dashboards in Executive Module pull data from multiple units into a single layout using predefined templates, including charts, tables, and aggregated metrics.
Because all units use the same templates, every plant is measured against the same KPIs. This removes reporting inconsistency and makes direct site-to-site comparisons reliable.
Collections
Collections are folders that organize your dashboards. There are two types:
Collection Type | Who Can See It | What It Contains |
Global Collection | Executive users only | Multi-plant dashboards spanning the entire organization |
Company Collection | Executive users + users assigned to that specific unit | Dashboards scoped to one company unit |
To navigate Collections:
On the Executive page, locate the Collections panel on the left side of the screen.
Click a Collection name to expand it and see the dashboards inside.
Click a dashboard name to open it.
Map View
The Map View shows aggregated real-time asset data across all company units you have access to. Use it to identify which sites have active alerts or pending maintenance without opening each unit individually.
On the Executive page, click Map View in the sidebar.
Review the list of assets and their current statuses across all units.
Click any asset to see additional details.
Switching Between Companies
As an executive user, you can change the organizational context of your view to focus on any specific company unit.
At the top of the Executive page, locate the company selector dropdown.
Click it to see all company units available in your organization.
Select the unit you want to view.
💡 Tip: Switching between companies is only available to executive accounts. Standard users are locked to their assigned company and cannot switch.
Granting Executive Access to Your Team
If you already have Executive Module access, you can extend it to other members of your team by creating an executive profile and assigning it to their accounts.
Step 1: Create an Executive Profile
Go to the profile management area and select Register new Profile.
Enter a name for the new profile (e.g., "Operations Leadership").
In the Base Profile dropdown, select Executive.
Under Limit Access by Location, choose which organizational units this profile should have access to.
Review the Platform Modules to confirm the modules you want enabled for this profile.
Click Save.
Step 2: Assign the Profile to Team Members
Navigate to the user management area.
Find the team member you want to grant access to and edit their account.
Assign the executive profile you just created.
Save the changes.
Once assigned, those team members will see the Executive tab in their navigation and can access Executive Module features according to the permissions you configured in the profile.
💡 Tip: You can create multiple executive profiles with different permission levels, for example, one with full access for VPs and another with view-only dashboards for regional managers.
