What Is This Spreadsheet For?
Use this spreadsheet to manage the list of failure effects for your assets in TRACTIAN. Failure effects describe what happens as a result of a failure — for example, "Production stoppage" or "Increased noise level." You can use this spreadsheet to add new failure effects in bulk or update the names of existing ones.
Can I Import, Export, or Both?
Import (upload data into TRACTIAN): Yes
Export (download data from TRACTIAN): Yes

Columns in Detail
ID (Fill only for update)
Leave this column blank when adding a new failure effect.
Fill this column only when you want to rename an existing failure effect. The ID tells TRACTIAN which record to update.
If you enter an ID that does not exist in TRACTIAN, the row will be rejected.
Name
The name of the consequence or effect of the failure (for example, "Production Stoppage" or "Equipment Damage").
Each failure effect name must be unique across your company — you cannot have two failure effects with the same name.
This column is required for every row.
Custom Fields
This spreadsheet does not include custom fields.
Tips for a Successful Import
Leave the ID (Fill only for update) column blank for every new failure effect — only fill it when renaming an existing one.
Make sure every row has a value in the Name column — rows with a blank name will be skipped.
Each failure effect name must be unique. If two rows in the same file have the same name, both may be rejected.
If you are updating an existing failure effect, double-check that the ID matches exactly what is stored in TRACTIAN.
Example Rows
ID (Fill only for update) | Name |
Production Stoppage | |
Increased Noise Level | |
64d4a9f3b1c6f60004d0f678 | Equipment Overheating |
Rows 1 and 2 create new failure effects. Row 3 renames an existing failure effect using its ID.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can I update an existing failure effect or only create new ones? You can do both. Leave the ID column blank to create a new failure effect, or fill it with the existing ID to update its name.
What happens if I enter a name that already exists? The row will be rejected with an error. Each failure effect name must be unique within your company.
What happens if I enter an ID that does not exist in TRACTIAN? The row will be rejected. Make sure the ID you enter matches a failure effect already in the system.
Can I delete failure effects using this spreadsheet? No. This spreadsheet only supports creating and renaming failure effects. Deletions must be done directly in TRACTIAN.
