Comparing vibrations at different moments is essential to identify the progression of failures in an asset. On the Tractian platform, this comparison can be made using trend charts and vibration spectra.
1. Access the trend graphs
In the top menu, click on "Analytics";
At the top of the screen, select the asset you want to analyze.
These charts display vibration data over time. Each point represents a reading collected by the sensor.
2. Open the spectrum from a data point
Hover over the points on the chart;
Click on the desired reading.
This will open the Spectral Analysis screen with the spectrum from the selected data point.
3. Adjust the analyzed time period
Still on the Spectral Analysis screen, use the time filters on the trend chart:
7D: last 7 days
30D: last 30 days
3M: last 3 months
Custom: define the range manually
These filters help you navigate and identify the periods with the greatest variation and should be set before adding new data points.
4. Add another point for comparison
Go to the trend chart displayed at the bottom of the screen;
Find another data point within the adjusted period;
Right-click on this second point.
The spectrum from this second point will be overlaid onto the first one on the main chart. Each spectrum is displayed in a different color, making comparison easier. You can compare as many as you want, just follow the same steps.
