Power Outage Insight
Updated over a week ago

Power outages occur when there is an interruption in the supply of electrical power to a consumer. These outages can be quickly restored within a few seconds, or take much longer in more severe cases.

These interruptions in the supply of energy can occur due to various factors, including issues in power generation by the responsible utility company, failures in the distribution system, or even internal electrical issues within the consumer's property.

The power outage insight was developed to alert maintainers and record the details of the occurrence.

There are two key moments to consider in understanding how this insight functions:

Power Outage

At this moment, a real-time alert is sent out notifying the detected power outage of the monitored asset(s).

Example of Notification on a Mobile Device

The insight records which assets that were affected, plus the date and time of the power outage detection.

Important note: due to the need for data transmission without power supply, this type of alert is only available for new versions of Energy Trac with a supercapacitor.

Power restored.

At this moment, a real-time alert is sent out notifying the restoration of power, after a power outage.

Example of Notification on a Mobile Device

The insight records the date and time of the restoration and calculates the total duration of the power outage.

Important note: this type of alert is available for all versions of Energy Trac.
With power restored, it's necessary to check the pending insight.

Checking the power outage insight

Click "Check"

Rate the accuracy of the insight and record a note with the information and details of the event.

Power outage confirmed: Asset stopped due to power outage
Power outage detected: Power was not interrupted

Rate if the problem was solved.

Rate the Failure Criticality.

Select the Cause of Failure.

Select the Failure Component.

Define if the maintenance was done or not.

If there is any additional Note, write it in the Insight for event documentation and click Check. When Check is clicked, confirming the need of maintenance, a maintenance event will be automatically created for the occurrence.
