Failure Configuration and Equipment Type
In the Platform Settings, you can edit and manage the fault identification of your assets. To do this
Within the platform, click on your profile icon at the top right;
Go to "Reliability".
In the Failures section, there are three possibilities:
Manage Failures;
Enable or disable "Multiple Failures Identified";
Enable or disable the "Required for corrective measures".
Manage Failures
Here, you will see a table with 5 columns: Failure, Equipment Type, Components, Created by and Actions.
Failure
The failures you see in the list fall into two categories:
Standard failure
Custom failure
Standard Failure
The default failures are pre-set by TRACTIAN. You cannot delete them, but you can disable them via the selector in the "Actions" column. Once disabled, these failures will still appear in the table.
Important note: deactivating a standard failure will not affect any Work Orders, Requests or Insights associated with it, but it will be displayed as deactivated. In the selection list, it will be removed, so it cannot be selected in new Work Orders, Requests and Insights.
Custom Failure
Adding a custom failure
Custom faults are those that you have added yourself. When you click on the "Add" button, a new row appears in the table to create a new failure, with a limit of 100 characters. By default, all types of equipment and components are selected for this fault. You can remove certain types and components to customize the failure.
Important note: it is not possible to create failures with the same name.
Deleting a custom failure
Custom faults can be deleted by clicking on the trash can in the "Actions" column. Once deleted, they will not appear in the list of Identified Failures.
Important note: before deleting a failure, make sure that it is not associated with any Work Order, Request or Insight. If there is a link, you must remove it, otherwise you won't be able to delete the failure.
Failures deleted in Requests already approved or rejected will be displayed as deleted, although you will still be able to see their details.
Configuring types of equipment and components
Some types of equipment and components are already predetermined on the platform. However, you can customize the components and equipment types according to the ones you have in your organization.
Configuring equipment types
Within the platform, click on your profile icon at the top right;
Go to "Assets";
In the "Equipment Types" section, click on "Edit Equipment Types".
You will see all the Equipment Types registered, divided into two categories: enabled and disabled.
Enabled: enabled Equipment Types are those that are available for selection within the platform.
Disabled: disabled Types cannot be selected within the platform because they are not active for use.
Important note: you can only disable or delete Equipment Types that you have registered. Tractian Equipment Types, i.e. those already predefined on the platform, can be disabled, but not deleted.
Editing Equipment Types
To edit an Equipment Type, select the one you want to edit, then click on "Edit" next to the Equipment name.
You will be able to edit the name, the Class of the Equipment, add and delete Components of those Equipment Types that you have added.
Important note: you can only edit Equipment Types that you have registered. You can't change the name, the Equipment Class, or delete Components from Tractian Equipment Types, i.e. those already predefined on the platform. However, you can add new Components to Tractian Equipment Types.
Adding a new Equipment Type
To register a new Equipment Type, click on "Add Type" at the top right.
Then simply name your Equipment, define its Class and Components.
Defining Class
When defining the Equipment Type Class, you can choose from the existing ones or you can create a new one by simply typing in the name.
Defining components
When defining Components, you can choose from existing ones or you can create a new one.
Configuring the Components
To configure the Components:
Go to Settings and locate the "Assets" section;
Under "Components", click on "Edit Components".
In this editing tab, you will see the complete list of Components, including the predefined ones and the ones you have added.
Adding a new component
To add a new component, click on "Add", and a new row will appear at the top of the table.
You can only add the name of the component, as it is not possible to select the Equipment Type in this type of record.
Once you've added the component, you can associate it with its Equipment Type.
Actions on components
You can enable, disable or delete components.
Enabling and disabling components: the components that allow this type of action are those already predefined by Tractian.
Deleting components: components you have added can be deleted. However, deleting a custom component will remove it from the list of Equipment Type components and from the selection list.
Important note: You must disassociate the component from any Work Order, Pending Request or Insight to which it is linked before deleting it.
