Register a Location

A Location is the highest-level structure in your Asset Tree. It represents a physical unit such as a plant, warehouse, or building. Below is the complete step-by-step guide to register a new Location on the platform.


Step-by-step to register a new Location

  • Go to the Assets tab in the main menu.

  • Click Add Location in the upper right corner of the screen.


Filling in the Location details

Location Name

Enter the name that identifies the location within your organization (e.g., North Plant, Warehouse 02).

You may optionally add a photo and a short description.

Location assignees

Select the team members or groups responsible for this location.

Important note: Only the users specified here will receive alerts generated in this Location.

If you want all platform users to receive alerts, leave this field blank.

Address

Enter the full address of the location in the Address field. This helps with organization and information tracking.

Location QR Code

You can:

  • Manually enter a QR Code (using your company’s standard), or

  • Automatically generate the code via the platform.

Location Tags

Use tags to improve categorization. Just type in the TAG field following your organization's standards.

Location Files

Click Attach Files to upload documents or images relevant to the Location. You can upload one or multiple files.


Best Practices

  • Keep name and tag formatting standardized to simplify tree management.

  • Use real images to make visual identification easier on the platform.

  • Remember to review the assigned owners to ensure alerts reach the right people.
