Change the Asset's Operating Status (Planned and Unplanned Downtime)
Updated this week

The operating status of an asset can be Planned Downtime or Unplanned Downtime, and this is automatically determined based on the Operation Window configured for the asset.

  • Planned Downtime: Occurs within the pre-defined hours of the Operation Window. In this case, the machine is turned off within the expected time, without indicating a failure.

  • Unplanned Downtime: Occurs outside of scheduled hours and is considered an anomaly because the asset should be running at that time.

If the asset’s downtime status is incorrect, it may be necessary to adjust the Operating Window or create an operational event.

Configuring the Operation Window for Planned and Unplanned Downtime

The Operation Window defines the exact periods when the asset should be running. If an asset stops outside these times, the platform will mark this downtime as unplanned.

For more details on Managing Operating Windows, read this article.

Editing the Operation Window on the Assets Page

  1. Go to the Assets tab in the platform’s main menu.

  2. Select the asset you want to configure.

  3. Click the Edit button.

  4. In the asset's Operation Window section, make the necessary edits.

During the editing process, you have two options:

  • Select from existing Operation Windows.

  • Create a new Operation Window, filling in the following fields:

    • Identification

    • Intervals, where you define the asset’s operating hours.

You can set the same schedule for all days or configure different times for each day of the week.

Creating an Event to Define a Planned Downtime

If the downtime was planned (e.g., for maintenance), you can create an operational event to ensure it is correctly classified in the system.

How to Register an Operational Event

  1. Go to the Analytics tab in the main menu.

  2. Select the desired asset.

  3. Click the "Add Event" button.

  4. Fill in the event details:

    • Selected Asset: Automatically filled, but you can change it or add more assets.

    • Event: Choose the type of event (e.g., Maintenance, Inspection, Operation Change, etc.).

    • Event Period: Define the start and end date and time.

    • Assignees: Select the people or teams responsible.

    • Event Notes: Add relevant information for the history.

    • Attach Files: Upload reports, documents, or photos to complement the record.

  5. Click "Add" to save the event.

This ensures that the asset's status is correctly updated in the platform and can be monitored in real time.
